Privacy Policy for the “Playground Paradise: Tycoon” App

Last updated: October 5, 2026

This privacy policy explains which personal data is processed when you use the iOS app “Playground Paradise: Tycoon” (the “App”), for what purposes, and what rights you have. The App is a management game in which you run an indoor playground. It works without an account with us, and we do not operate any servers of our own. For the “Visit friends” feature we use Apple’s cloud service iCloud (see section 5.1).

We have not appointed a data protection officer, as there is no legal obligation to do so.

2. Overview

3. Local storage on your device

The App stores your game progress (e.g. coins, built attractions, the names of your hall and your character, progress) and your settings (music, sound effects, vibration, language) exclusively on your device. This data is not transferred to the controller. It is deleted when you delete the App.

You can freely choose the names of your character and your hall. Please don't use your full real name if you'd rather not – it is only stored locally anyway.

4. iCloud sync of your game progress

If you are signed in to your device with an Apple Account and iCloud is enabled for the App, the App may store your game progress in your private iCloud storage so that you can continue playing on a new device or after reinstalling. The data is stored by Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland (“Apple”). We have no access to your iCloud storage.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the feature you use). You can turn off syncing at any time in the iOS Settings under “Apple Account → iCloud”.

5. Game Center

The App supports Apple Game Center. If you are signed in to Game Center, Apple processes in particular your Game Center player ID, your player name (alias), leaderboard scores (stars and helps over 4 weeks, total stars), unlocked achievements and, where applicable, game progress saved via Game Center. Depending on your Game Center settings, this information may be visible to other Game Center players (e.g. your Game Center friends) in leaderboards.

The provider is Apple (address see section 4). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Taking part in the leaderboards and reporting achievements is a separate opt-in that can be switched on in the app under “Profile & Settings” (off by default, only with a math question for adults). Using Game Center is optional; you can play the App without restrictions without signing in – only leaderboards, achievements and Game Center restore will then be unavailable. You can sign out at any time in the iOS Settings under “Game Center”. More information: Apple Privacy Policy.

5.1 Visit friends

If you are signed in to Game Center, you can visit your friends’ playgrounds and help out there. For this, the App stores the following data in the App’s public database in Apple’s cloud service iCloud (CloudKit):

This data can be seen by players who are your Game Center friends or who know your friend code. With your permission, the App also reads your Game Center friends list to find friends who play; the list itself is not stored. The provider is Apple (address see section 4); as the developer of the App we can view the data in the public database. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. The feature is optional – nothing is transferred without a Game Center sign-in. We delete your entries on request by email.

6. In-app purchases

The App offers virtual items (e.g. the premium currency “lollies” or cosmetic items) for purchase. Purchase and payment are handled entirely through Apple's App Store. We never receive payment details (e.g. credit card or bank details). The App only receives a confirmation of the transaction from Apple (including product identifier, transaction ID, purchase date) in order to unlock the purchased content and restore purchases. This information is processed locally on your device.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract). Apple is responsible for the processing in the App Store; Apple's terms and privacy policy apply. In-app purchases can be restricted or blocked entirely via the Screen Time settings in iOS.

7. Advertising

The App is free and is financed in part by optional rewarded ads: an ad video is only played if you tap a corresponding button yourself (e.g. “Watch an ad: 2× income”), and you receive an in-game reward afterwards. There are no banner ads and no ads that start without your action.

7.1 Advertising provider

To deliver ads we use Google AdMob, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (the “advertising provider”). When loading and displaying an ad, the advertising provider processes in particular:

7.2 Consent and choices

Personalized advertising and access to the advertising identifier only take place with your consent. For this purpose, the App asks for your permission via a consent dialog (consent management) and via the iOS “App Tracking Transparency” prompt. Without consent, only non-personalized ads are shown; for these, the advertising provider processes the data listed in 7.1 (without the advertising identifier) on the basis of our legitimate interest in financing the free App (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, insofar as information is stored on or read from your device, on the basis of Section 25(2) of the German TDDDG, to the extent this is strictly necessary for the rewarded ad you requested.

The legal basis for personalized advertising is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future – in the App under “Profile & Settings → Privacy settings” and in the iOS Settings under “Privacy & Security → Tracking”.

7.3 Transfers to third countries

The advertising provider may also process data in the USA or other countries outside the EU. Such transfers are based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission (EU-US Data Privacy Framework), where the provider is certified, or on EU standard contractual clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). More information: Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

8. Crash and usage data via Apple

If you have agreed in the iOS Settings to share analytics data with app developers (“Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements”), Apple provides us with anonymized crash reports and aggregated usage statistics (e.g. the number of installations). This data does not allow any conclusions about your identity. Beyond this, we do not use any analytics or tracking tools of our own.

9. Beta versions via TestFlight

If you take part in testing pre-release versions via Apple's TestFlight service, Apple processes your email address or Apple Account, information about the installation and use of the beta version, as well as crash reports and feedback you choose to send (including screenshots). This information is shown to us in App Store Connect and is used solely to improve the App. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Apple's TestFlight terms also apply.

10. Contact by email

If you contact us by email, we process your email address and the content of your message in order to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). The data is deleted once your request has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply.

11. Children and young people

The App is a family-friendly game, but it is not specifically directed at children under 13. Personalized advertising is not knowingly shown to people under 16; for younger users, consent can only be given by their parents (Art. 8 GDPR). Parents can restrict in-app purchases and tracking via the Screen Time and privacy settings in iOS.

12. Retention period

Data stored locally remains until you delete the App. Data in iCloud and Game Center is stored in accordance with Apple's policies and can be deleted by you via your Apple Account settings. The retention periods of the advertising provider are set out in its own information (see section 7).

13. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights:

Since we do not store any data on servers of our own, we can usually only fulfil access or erasure requests for email correspondence. For data held by Apple or the advertising provider, please contact them directly; we are happy to help.

Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is:

Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen
(State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia)
Kavalleriestraße 2–4
40213 Düsseldorf, Germany

14. Changes to this privacy policy

We update this privacy policy when the App or legal requirements change. The version published on this page applies.

This English version is provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the German version shall prevail.
